A few months ago I bought a new compact EAA Witness (steel frame) from Reed's Ammunition and Research LLC in Oklahoma City, OK. It has the wonder finish and is chambered in 10mm. I have an old full size Tanfoglio in 9mm that fits my hand well and is a pleasure to shoot. It's also just as reliable as my Beretta 92. So when I wanted a compact pistol in 10mm I checked EAAs offerings out. The price was only $369 at the time but they have recently gone up to $385. That's still a bargain considering comparable pistols sell for $500 and more. Well, I sent them a check and my dealers FFL and in a couple of weeks I had my new little 10mm. Unfortunately they only come with one magazine so I ordered two more while I was at it. When I took this little pistol to the range I was pleasantly surprised. Just like the older Tanfoglio, its ergonomic design fits comfotably in my hand. It's a great little shooter, recoil is stout but not unpleasant. I have so far put 100 rounds through it without a single malfunction. That's inpressive for a brand new pistol right out of the box. So this is my new little "keeper" and I frequently reach for it as my carry gun.

A very fitting & properly descriptive word. I bought my 1st .40 cal. (very similar to the 10mm) auto 2 years ago. I'm not sure why I expected it to be significantly less than any of my .45 autos & was surprised by it's stoutness! I'm guessing part of my surprise was brought about by the light weight of my 1st stainless/polymer frame gun. You didn't mention whether your EAA Witness was a full size or compact.
